The 90’s was definitely a decade of good things. One of the blessings this decade bestowed upon us was Homeward Bound. This 1993 movie follows the story of three pets, a Himalayan cat, a Golden Retriever, and an American Bulldog, who leave town in search of their owners, who they thought had abandoned them. They leave their life of luxury and domestication and go on an epic journey of unexpected surprises and adventures.
101 Dalmatians
This is probably the first dog movie a lot of us watched. Who can forget this 1961 Disney classic? In case you have never seen it, here’s a brief summary: Pongo and Perdita, a Dalmatian couple with 15 lovely puppies, are perfectly happy with their sweet owners Roger and Anita. But their life takes a turn when the evil Cruela De Vil, a rich woman with a fur coat obsession, wants to take the dogs and turn them into a fashionable fur coat. Despite being more than 50 years old, this movie still has an appeal that will capture your heart.
Marley & Me
Grab a box of tissues because this movie will surely have you bawling your eyes out. Marley & Me revolves around the story of a newlywed couple, John and Jenny Grogan, who adopts a dog to prepare themselves for raising children. Marley, a yellow Labrador retriever, arrives at the Grogan home and turns the house upside down. He flunks obedience school, chews off shoes, and even swallows Jenny’s favorite necklace.
